On my way back to Brown, I stopped at Boulder, Colorado to visit my friend, Jack, who goes to school there. Jack and I both studied abroad in Granada, and we lived about 1 minute away from each other. We struggled through grammar class together, explored new places together, and tapa'd our way through Granada. Most importantly, Jack introduced me to his favorite bar, which quickly became my favorite bar, and later on my family's favorite as well as my friends.
It made sense to stop in for a visit on my way to school, and it was the best decision. I had such an amazing time in Colorado! It may be my new favorite state/city in the US, which is a big deal because I'm obsessed with California and also Montana. Boulder has so much to offer: everyone is so friendly and outdoorsy, there is so much to do in the city and the surrounding areas, it is a BEAUTIFUL place, and apparently it is sunny 300 days of the year, which is the best thing I've ever heard considering that it snows there. Despite the cold temperatures, the sun was so warm we could actually walk around in t-shirts. I am currently trying to convince my family, or anyone that will go with me, to make another trip to Colorado, in any season! Even after three days, there is still so much more to do. I also loved meeting up with other Granada friends, and seeing what life is like at another school. Also, I've never seen so many Subarus in my entire life. If Jack and I had played "Count the Subarus" the number would have been CRAZY high.
Visiting Jack and exploring Boulder reaffirmed my commitment to exploring Providence more. Jack promises that he will visit me soon, and I'm holding him to that, but I know I have to explore on my own and with friends here before he comes.
